In this digital age, you’d think that when a celebrity dies you’d be informed of the event. But, that’s not always the case, sometimes they just go quietly. Here’s a compilation of 16 celebrities who died and chances are you never got wind of it. May this serve as a memorial to them.
- Paul WalkerBest known for his role as Brian O’Connor in the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise, Paul Walker’s life was cut short at the age of 40 by a fiery car crash back in November 2013 alongside his friend Roger Rodas. Paul was driving from a charity event in California when he met his death. The 3 films that he was working on at the time were released posthumously.

Found dead on her apartment back in 2011, Amy Winehouse was 27 when she lost her life to alcohol poisoning. Although she had a shaky history with drugs and alcohol, most people will remember her for her incredible talent- she won 6 Grammys in her short career.

Lee Thompson Young Popularly recognized for his role as Chris Comer in the movie Friday Night Lights (2004) and his teenage role as the title character on The Famous Jett Jackson- a Disney Television series, Lee Thomspon young committed suicide at the age of 29. It was later revealed that he did have a history of bipolar disorder and depression during the time he committed suicide.
4. Jenni Rivera
Jenni Rivera, a Mexican-American singer and reality star died in a tragic plane crash back in 2013 after her final performance in the city of Monterrey, Mexico. Although she has since made it to the Forbes list, speculations have been made that a Mexican drug lord may have been behind the death of Jenni Rivera.
5. Rob Knoxx
Rob Knoxx, the actor from “Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince”, was fatally stabbed in 2008 while trying to protect his younger brother-Jamie from a knifeman with 2 knives.
6. DJ AM
Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM was found dead in his apartment back in 2008 from a suspected drug overdose. The celebrity disc jockey known for his talent spinning as well as the starlets who he dated, including Nicole Richie and Mandy Moore, died at the age of 36.
7. Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopez
Left Eye, the most flamboyant and outspoken member of the multiplatinum trio TLC died back in 2002. She died on a car accident on a highway in Roma.
8. Cory Monteith
At the age of 31, Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead in his room. Cory, who played Finn Hudson, died of a drug overdose- more specifically, a cocktail of heroin and champagne.
9. Heath LedgerOnly four months after filming his role as the joker in The Dark Knight, Heath Ledger was found dead in his bed by his housekeeper in 2008. The autopsy revealed that he died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs in. This iconic Academy Award winning actor was popular for his role in Broke Back Mountain.
Supposed to be the next Mark Zuckerberg, Ilya Zhitomirskiy was a cofounder of the open-source social networking website ‘Diaspora’ and died at the age of 22 in 2011. He died from an intentional gas asphyxiation using Helium.
11. Brittany Murphy
Hollywood actress Britanny Murphy popularly known for her talented acting in 8 Mile and Girl, Interrupted, died at the age of 32 in 2009. Although the coroner attributed her death to pneumonia and anemia, eyebrows were raised when 5 months later, her husband died of the same illnesses.
12. Peaches Geldof
Wife to Musician Thomas Cohen and a mother to two sons, Peaches Geldof died of a heroin overdose in April, 2014. Peaches was a renowned model, television presenter and journalist.
13. Philip Seymour HoffmanPhilip Seymour, an American actor, director and producer of films, died in February, 2004 of a drug overdose.
14. Stieg Larrson
Famous Swedish author best known for his bestselling Novels (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest) died in 2004 from a heart attack at the age of 50. Stieg never lived to see the success of his trilogy.
15. Steve McNairSteve McNair, former quarter back was shot dead at his sleep by his girlfriend in July, 2009. Throughout his career, Steve was defined by his toughness and ability to lead.
16. Gunnar Hansen
Best known for playing the iconic villain Leatherface in the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Gunner Hansen succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the age of 68 in 2015.
