Aaliyah Haughton

In December 2001, recording artist, Aaliyah was killed after her two-engine Cessna 402 crashed in the Bahamas just after takeoff.  Aaliyah, who was only 22 years old, had just completed the filming of her music video “Rock the Boat,” and was accompanied on board with employees of Virgin Records. While the cause of crash was investigated as the airplane possibly carrying too much weight, an autopsy report later revealed that the pilot had both alcohol and traces of cocaine in his system.
